deep and high

At U-City Family Church we are committed to helping people grow closer to God.  If you think about growing a large tree, it means that its roots have to be sunk deeply in order to spread new branches higher.  We've put together a framework to talk about growing deeper we call MATURE which describes six practices which will help you grow as you follow Jesus.

  • MEDITATING ON SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. . . . If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. John 15:5-6

  • ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR

[P]ut off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires . . . . put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24

  • TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. . . . No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:19-24

    1. Priority: Give Him the first fruit, not the leftovers

    2. Percentage: Consistent and generous

    3. Progressive: As God blesses you, increase over time

  • USING YOUR GIFTS TO SERVE OTHERS

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

  • RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

  • EXPANDING CHRIST'S MESSAGE

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
