The mission of U-City Family Church is:

"To bring people and God together in love."

Whether you're just beginning to explore questions of faith or you've been a dyed-in-the-wool Christian for a hundred years, we want to provide a place for you to grow closer to God and closer to others. Our church is wildly diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, education and religious background. So, wherever you come from and wherever you've been, we want you to know you are welcome here.

This mission is the day-to-day working toward our vision which is to:

"Love God completely and love you unconditionally."

Jesus taught that all spiritual teachings, doctrines, prophets and laws boil down to two great commandments: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. . . and . . . Love your neighbor as yourself." As a church family, we strive to adhere to these two guiding principles in everything we do.  Watch Pastor Brent's sermon on The Main Thing where he teaches on these words of Jesus.

four core ministries

We pursue our church's mission and vision through four main ministries:

Our Weekly Celebration is designed to help you celebrate God through through soulful worship, sound teaching and deep relationships with others.

Next Steps is designed to help you join the family and get involved in the life of our congregation a four-part series of sessions that explore church membership, spiritual foundations, spiritual gifts and service opportunities.

Our Life Groups are dedicated to helping our church family grow together by building genuine and authentic community.

Our Dream Team is designed to help you make a difference through joyful and loving service to others.

We've built our church on four core values that help us pursue our mission. We are:

It’s all about him.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. Colossians 1:15-18

It’s about helping others experience him.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20

We do our best for him.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24

We are one family in him.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
